Sask Gaming owns and operates Casino Regina and Casino Moose Jaw. The provincial government regulates Sask Gaming through the regulatory authority and supervision of the Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA).

Each year, our casinos entertain more than three million people. Our focus is providing a great entertainment experience through gaming, live entertainment, restaurants, and more. We’re proud of our success – in fact, readers of WestJet’s Up! Magazine chose Casino Regina as the best nightlife in the city.

We have a workforce of more than 1,000 employees. Of those, 32 per cent are under 30 – we’re often a “first employer”, providing people with jobs where they can develop skills and leadership abilities. We are honored to stand among Canada’s Top 100 Employers for the second straight year and one of Saskatchewan’s Top 10 Employers for the third year in a row.

Sask Gaming transfers profits to the provincial General Revenue Fund and the province directs those profits to the First Nations Trust, the Métis Development Fund and the Community Initiatives Fund. Since we opened for business in 1996 we have transferred over $356 million to the province, helping to provide important programs and services for the people of Saskatchewan.

In 2008, the Corporation came under the direction of Crown Investment Corporation and as a CIC Crown we now pay dividends to CIC. In 2008, we paid $15.3 million as our first dividend to CIC.

Corporate governance

Sask Gaming was established through proclamation of The Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation Act (1994). Originally a Treasury Board Crown Corporation, Sask Gaming came under the direction of Crown Investment Corporation on April 1, 2008. Sask Gaming is subject to the provisions of The Crown Corporations Act, 1993, which gives Crown Investments Corporation of Saskatchewan (CIC), the holding company for Saskatchewan's commercial Crown corporations, the broad authority to set the direction of the corporation.

Sask Gaming submits performance management plans and results for review and approval by CIC and the provincial cabinet. Through its chair, who is an outside director, the Sask Gaming board of directors is accountable to the minister responsible for Sask Gaming. The minister functions as a link between the corporation and cabinet, as well as the provincial legislature.
