Contributing to The Community

The Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation supports events, programs, activities and projects by non-profit and charitable organizations that improve the quality of life in Saskatchewan. All requests must be based in Saskatchewan, and activities must directly benefit a Saskatchewan community. We will support:

• Events of an educational, cultural, athletic, Aboriginal or community nature;
• Prize draws or raffles with a donation of tickets or merchandise;
• Fundraising events through the purchase of tickets, corporate tables, or donation of corporate goods and services; and,
• Events that promote a healthy, productive and positive lifestyle



As well, the event being sponsored must:

• Be beneficial to a Saskatchewan community or the province
• Match our vision and values
• Provide an opportunity to be a major sponsor for community events
• Provide maximum community benefits for our financial investment
• Offer SGC employees a chance to participate.



We will not sponsor the following:

• Travel and accommodation expenses for out-of-province events
• Research projects
• Capital projects or operating costs
• Individual applicants or individual team
• Political parties or candidates
• Lobby groups
• Religious organizations



To process a request for sponsorship, we require:

• Name, address, and telephone number of the organization
• Name and telephone number of the contact person
• Purpose of the organization, its background, and the number of people involved in, or assisting the event/activity
• Specific area the activity is linked to:  ie. education, cultural, Aboriginal, athletic or community service;
• Description of the event/activity
• Amount of funding requested
• Number of people expected to attend or participate
• Operating budget for the event/activity including other sources of funding
• Opportunities to recognize SGC as a sponsor
• Project/activity/event outcome(s).


SGC reserves the right to obtain police background checks on individuals associated with organizations requesting funding.



Other guidelines include:
• The funds must be used within 12 months of the date of the request.  If not used, funds must be returned to SGC.
• Funds must not be reinvested or used for any purpose other than stated in the request.
• Saskatchewan Gaming Corporation may monitor the use of any funds provided under the Sponsorship Program.
• Preference is given to local, regional and provincial, rather than national or international organizations
• The use of funds may be monitored by SGC.
