BLACKJACK
The object of the game is to beat the dealer's hand by getting 21 or as close to 21 as possible without actually going over (busting).
Players begin by placing wagers on the table. Starting from the dealer's left, the dealer gives each player two cards face up and takes one for him or herself. Depending on the total of the first two cards, a player will decide whether to "hit" (receive additional cards) or "stand" (refuse additional cards).
- If your total is closer to 21 than the dealer's, you win! You are paid even money.
- If you "hit" (draw a card) and your total goes over 21, the dealer wins and your wager is removed.
- If you and the dealer have the same total, it's a "standoff" (tie). Nobody wins or loses. Your bet is left on the table and your cards are removed.
- If your first two cards are an ace and any card with a value of ten, you have a blackjack! Blackjack is paid $3 for every $2 wagered, unless the dealer also gets a blackjack. Then it's a standoff.
